'Trying to find a solution' Jannik Sinner reveals the status of his ‘hip problem’ which can cause him to ‘not take the field’ for good

Italian tennis ace Jannik Sinner looked in some trouble during his third-round match against Pavel Kotov at the Madrid Open.

Although he won in straight sets, his physical discomfort was evident. Sinner confirmed that he is facing some issues with his hip. However, the Italian is determined to take on Karen Khachanov in the next round.

Sinner said that while he has been troubled, it does not look like a serious injury. The 22-year-old also said that if he faces problems, he will not take the court but he will play till he feels fine. Sinner also talked about his fitness and claimed that he would work it out.

The reigning Australian Open champion also admitted that he won the match against Kotov without much fuss but things won’t be easy going forward in the tournament. Sinner accepts that he will have to be at his physical best to beat his opponents in the next rounds.

I have already felt this since Monte Carlo. Sometimes I feel it more and other times less. We are trying to find a solution. From now on, I will meet stronger people in the tournament and everything will become more physical...If I take the field it means that I am able to play and if instead I don't take the field, very low probability knowing me, it will be for my good and for the next tournaments. However, I feel quite calm, I have an excellent physique and we work a lot on it, so I am very confident that tomorrow I can raise the level . Jannik Sinner said. (H/T: Ubitennis)

Jannik Sinner ready to put his best foot forward against Karen Khachanov

Jannik Sinner further talked about his matchup with Karen Khachanov, his fourth-round opponent at the Madrid Open. The Italian said that the two players had played enough against each other. Sinner also hailed Khachanov for his form and the shape he is in currently.

The 22-year-old then promised to put his best foot forward but also talked about not taking the result to heart if things don’t work in his favor. Instead, Sinner said he will focus on the next tournament.

Karen and I know each other quite well, we've played against each other at times. It will be a difficult match, he is in shape, in the right conditions. I'm confident I can put in a good level …and if this doesn't happen tomorrow we'll work for the next tournament. Jannik Sinner said about his matchup against Karen Khachanov.

Notably, Sinner leads the head-to-head record between the two players 3-1. The Italian has got the best out of his Khachanov on the last three occasions they have played against each other. However, this will be the first time the two players will be up against each other on a clay court.
