The Italian Refereeing Association have appointed Antonio Giua as the match official for Inter Milan’s away fixture against Frosinone.
The Canarini will host Simone Inzaghi’s men at the Benito Stripe on Friday. This will be the opening fixture of the Serie A Matchday 36.
The Nerazzurri have little to play having secured the Scudetto title a couple of weeks ago with a win over AC Milani in the Derby della Madonnina. This was evident in last weekend’s defeat in Sassuolo.
On the contrary, Frosinone will be desperate for points to keep themselves afloat. They currently sit 16th in the Serie A table, only two points above the relegation zone.
According to FcInterNews, Giua will be the referee in charge of the encounter.
This will be the 36-year-old’s 11th appearance as a match official in Serie A this season. In his 10 previous outings, he brandished 42 yellow cards, sent off two players for a second booking, and handed one straight red card. He also awarded three penalty kicks.
The Sassari native has yet to officiate a match for Inter this season. On the other hand, he was in charge of Frosinone’s 0-3 defeat at the hands of AS Roma at the Stripe back in February.
Giua will be assisted by Scatragli and Di Gioia who will act as linesmen. Prontera will be the fourth official, while Daniele Paterna will be in the VAR booth, with Doveri as his deputy.
The contest kicks off on Friday at 20:45 CET.
