On Wednesday afternoon, the Vegas Golden Knights announced that they have re-signed defenseman Brayden Pachal to a one-year, $750,000 contract.

Pachal, 22, has three seasons of professional hockey under his belt, all of which have come in the Golden Knights organization. He was also able to suit up for the first two NHL games of his career in 2021-22, averaging just under 10 minutes in ice time in the short span. He also suited up for 65 games with the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League last season, registering two goals and 11 points, while also carrying the role of team captain.

Pachal, a native of Saskatchewan, went undrafted throughout his junior hockey career in the Western Hockey League but was able to sign an entry-level contract with the Golden Knights back in September of 2019. He will continue to be a depth option for the organization and could see some more time at the NHL level in 2022-23 if injuries occur.
