Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was one of several victims in a shooting that took place at a Florida bar on Saturday night. The injury he sustained was minor.

The Texans announced in a statement on Sunday that Dell was one of several people who were shot at a private late-night event at Cabana Live in Sanford, Florida. Dell was treated for a gunshot wound at a local hospital and released.

“We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla. last night. He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits,” the Texans said. “We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”

Reports have indicated that 10 people were shot and all sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were patrolling the area just after midnight when they heard gunshots coming from the area of Cabana Live, which is a sports and music entertainment venue with large poolside videoboards.

A spokesperson for the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said the “incident began as a verbal altercation that escalated.” A 16-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to a local juvenile detention center.

Police said those who were hit with gunfire mostly sustained injuries to their lower extremities.

Dell was drafted by the Texans out of Houston in the third round last year. He had an impressive 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games before suffering a season-ending injury.
