The New Orleans Saints head coach, Dennis Allen, announced the team would part ways with offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael. Also, New Orleans reportedly terminated the contracts of wide receivers coach Kodi Burns and senior offensive assistant coach Bob Bicknell.

Firing Burns was a surprising move. Burns finished his second season with the Saints as the wide receivers coach after joining in 2022. He helped to develop the young talent of Chris Olave and All-Pro Rashid Shaheed.   The receiving corps was without Michael Thomas for seven games this season after being placed on injured reserve since Nov. 21.

Olave was an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate in 2022 and led the team in receiving the past two seasons. He has 159 receptions for 2,165 yards and nine touchdowns since the Saints drafted him as the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In 2023-24, Shaheed became a "big play" threat for the New Orleans quarterbacks with five receiving, one rushing, and added a punt return for a touchdown. Shaheed produced 74 receptions in 1,207 yards and seven receiving touchdowns in 27 game appearances.

Bob Bicknell completed his second season with New Orleans, serving as Dennis Allen's senior offensive assistant. Bicknell coached in various positions, from offensive line to wide receivers, in his 14th NFL season and 29th overall.
