Cleveland Cavaliers’ Georges Niang Hits Team With Harsh Reality Check After Brutal Loss To Miami Heat
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

For just the first time since the calendar flipped to 2024, the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a three-game losing skid when they failed to arrest a skid on Sunday in a 121-84 loss at the hands of the Miami Heat on the road.

The loss to the Heat has become the newest lowlight for the Cleveland Cavaliers who have been struggling to establish consistency this month. The Cavs are just 3-7 in their last 10 games, a stretch that coincides with the surge of the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic, who are both no more than a game behind Cleveland for the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Cleveland Cavaliers Need To Get It Together Sooner Than Later

Following the Heat debacle in which the Cavs trailed by as many as 45 points, Cleveland forward  Georges Niang gave an eye-opening take on what his team needs amid such a poor stretch.

“We have to get back on track. No one is going to feel bad for us,” Niang said in the locker room (via Bally Sports Cleveland).

The Cavaliers have a great opportunity to stop the bleeding and get back to their winning ways in their next game, as they are scheduled to take on the 17-win Charlotte Hornets at home this Monday night. The Cavs can’t afford to lose that game if they don’t want to further hurt their morale. The Hornets are one of the worst teams in the league and are also already eliminated from playoff contention. Even without Donovan Mitchell, the Cavs should be able to take care of business versus the Hornets.
