UCLA Football: Boise State Could Be Missing Star QB Vs LA
USA TODAY Sports

The UCLA Bruins are  preparing to take on the Boise State Broncos in the LA Bowl

It will be the final game of the 2023 season, and the Bruins will look to finish the season out on top. However, the Bruins could catch a break when they match up against the Broncos. Boise State quarterback Taylen Green will likely miss the game against UCLA as he has entered the transfer portal.

Although he put his name into the portal, there is a chance he could return to Boise State.

If Green plays in their matchup on December 16th, he will pose a challenge to the UCLA defense. He is a dual-threat quarterback that could undoubtedly have the Bruins focusing on. This season, Green has thrown for 1,752 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions with a 66 QBR.

In his latest performance in the Moutain West Championship, he sliced and diced the UNLV defense, throwing for 226 yards on only 12 completions.

We'll see if the Bruins will have to worry about Grene when the time comes. If he is not available, the Broncos could see punter James Ferguson-Reynolds or wide receiver Chase Penry, as they are the only Broncos on the roster who could play quarterback. Their backup quarterback, Maddux Madsen, will be unavailable after suffering a leg injury in November.

It will be an interesting game if Green doesn't play in this contest, and hopefully, the Bruins will take advantage of it.
