Arkansas picked up its third commitment with the pledge of former Boise State starting QB Taylen Green

The 6-foot-6, 225 pounder completed 287-483 passes for 3,794 yards, 25 touchdowns and 15 interceptions the past two seasons. The run game is a big part of what he brings to the table. In an abbreviated two seasons as a starter, Green ran for  1,026 yards for an average of 6.3 yards per carry while scoring 19 rushing touchdowns.

In addition to Green, Arkansas has transfer commitments from Michigan State offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock and Eastern Michigan tight end Andreas Plaaske. According to Jay Tust, who covers Boise State sports, UCLA, Oregon State, California, LSU, BYU and Arkansas offered Green.

In recent memory there hasn’t been a true competition at quarterback to begin a season at Arkansas. In spring of 2013, Brandon Allen and Brandon Mitchell went head-to-head with Allen winning out. Mitchell transferred to North Carolina State. The only other battle came before the infamous 2006 season when Arkansas had a trio of quarterbacks in Robert Johnson, Casey Dick and 5-star freshman Mitch Mustain competing to start. Coach Houston Nutt declared Johnson the starter prior to the home opener against Southern California. When things went south against the Trojans, Mustain came in and held the job for most of the season until being eventually beat out by Dick late in the season.

Jacolby Criswell is expected to be the leader for starting spot considering he backed up KJ Jefferson this fall. True freshman and 4-star signee Malachi Singleton never threw a pass this season, but possesses solid athleticism and quality arm to compete for the job during spring ball.
