The Ville
Today is my last day in Louisville. I got back on Monday, and I've just been chillin with my family and friends all week. I worked out in the mornings every day this week, but other than that, I didn't do much. I got to go to Lexington on Thursday to chill with some of my old teammates at Kentucky....I always like going back to hang with them because it reminds me of how much fun we all used to have when I was at UK. I played golf again this week...the swing has gotten a little better. Today, I went to church and had dinner with my family. My mom cooked some fish, and everyone came over to eat. This was my last time seeing most of my family until next summer because I won't be able to come back home during the season. Hopefully, they will be able to come up to Boston sometime during the year though. My time off has come to an end, and my year is about to start. I'm ready to get back to Boston and start practicing with the team...I'm looking forward to this year being a great year! I'll holla!

Did you tell everyone @ UK how much of an absolute beast Perk is? Did you tell them how often he gets all beastly and just starts beastin' on everything in sight? We hope you did. We know Our Sensei would appreciate such words. Everyone loves to hear "Perk is a Beast"

I look forward to seeing you in your second year. Now that you've been around a bit, you know what to expect. One suggestion. This season you will have a lot of opportunity to get to the basket, with KG, Ray Allen, PP and Posey spreading the floor. Although you made 52% of your inside shots as a rookie, with your athleticism, jumping ability and hands that figure should be over 60% (Luke Rindour averaged 65% insided eFG% as a rookie, for example.
You picked up your dribble too far from the basket a lot last season, leading to you having to long jump as well as high jump to get your shot off. PGs who make a living in the paint, like Tony Parker, use their speed, quickness, and dribbling ability to open up their shooting hand in the paint while closer to the basket when the pick up their dribble. Steve Nash is a master of finding open space to just gently lay the ball in the basket.
Your outside shooting will come around, in a season or two, but making a higher number of your layups will skyrocket your FG % and effectiveness. Good luck this season as the point guard on a Hall of Fame squad. We fans in Boston have a lot of confidence in you.

I have heard that you have put a lot of work into your jumpshot this summer. How is that coming along and can we expect to see a lot more J's from you in gametime? I appreciate your enthusiasm for the game and the zeal and excitement you bring to the C's when you're on the floor! Have a great season!

Great to hear you are sticking with the golf and I reconfirm my invitation to you if you are ever in Australia. We have some great golf courses.
I can't wait for the season to start, it's going to be a lot of fun watching you play with the current line up.
All the best.
