The Comeback

I'll update everyone on the ankle first - it's fine, felt good. I will keep getting ice and stim on it, but there were no problems with the ankle tonight. I have to give our trainer, Ed Lacerte, credit for helping me get the ankle ready to go. He had me getting stim and icing throughout the day yesterday. I grabbed some ice from his room last night and got more treatment today. It all helped. Then he gave me a great tape job tonight. For the first time ever I got taped directly to my skin and it made a difference. The tape came off pretty good too. The game, what can I say, great team effort. I've seen comebacks before but I've never been seen or been part of one like that. 24 points, but it really hasn't sunk in yet. We felt we were supposed to win this one from the jump, but didn't start the way we thought we would. Everybody made big shots, Paul made shots, Pose made shots, E House made shots and we got stops - that's how we got back in it. We stayed focused. We've been through adversity all year and knew we could come back. We faced it in game 6 against Detroit. We were down 8 in the 4th and came back to win. We changed momentum in the 4th to win that game and we did that again tonight. That game in Detroit helped prepare us for this. The other playoff series helped get us ready for this. It really is all about mental focus - we never believed we were in trouble. We knew if we kept making runs and got it down to 10 we'd have a chance. We made the extra pass, made the shots and made stops. P was great tonight. He wanted to guard Kobe and stepped up to the challenge Now the focus is on game 5. Someone asked me if I was excited. I won't get excited until we win the 4th game, then I'll get excited. The next 48 minutes - we give it all we got. Check in tomorrow, I'll have a new trivia question. Until then I'll holla.

That was such an amazing game!! My dad gave up hope but i couldn't!! You guys faught hard till the end and didn't give up and thats what really matters!! Plus I think you did absolutly amazing and you really helped out with everything!! Good job and I cant wait till game 5!!!

First of all congradulatoins on a heck of a comeback, I have only seen a comeback like that once and that was when the lakers beat San Antonio coming back from a 20 point deficit. Anyway I'm glad to hear your ankle feels better, great job tonight, and I also think Ray Allen deserves props for his key role in the comeback. I hope you get some rest tonight and tomorrow so we can close this series and bring the championship back to the east coast! Again great game sweetie, take care and I definately will be watching sunday!

WOW what a game... biggest emotional roller coaster ever... I was screaming all game long.. at bad calls in the first quarter and the three pointers down the stretch... Been a Boston fan since birth and now I finally get to watch you guys in the finals... can't wait to see the series end and another banner be hung in the garden... Hey Rajon, though this is out of the topic and probably you already know about this but watching the games, I'm pretty sure you could become a big threat on the offensive end as well. Doc was right when he said after game 2 that you need to shoot the ball as well. Yes, you racked up 16 assists but when I look in the game, you had plenty of opportunities to shoot. Man, please promise that you will work hard on your shooting so that by next season, others will respect you more as a threat!!! Have fun in the finals and I hope you truly win this one! SUPERB Finish lastnight, the first half was heartbreking for me but i believed like doc said (Do you Belive)? Rondo i told you how i feel about you and like others i have to truthful to the man i love. you are a great player. good assist, speed etc. BUT!! make sure thae film you watch is of lastnights game examine the the first half when you were on the court and look at the 3rd and 4th see the difference everyone was liable to shoot so kobe couln't double team anyone, you are a shorter guy just take it to the hoop its not about scoring even the best shooters mis but by taking it to the hoop its a 100% chance those big guys on the Fakers are gonna foul you then once you start doing that then kobe wont abandon you like that cause you are a threat please work on your shots you have everything else locked i know youre young and inexperienced but out all you have what it takes to be the greatest after just a few seasons in the NBA thats Doc, Allen, KG and Pierce believe in you like us so make us happy and RISE TO THE OCASSION! watching the game in the first quarter i was so damn mad. Cheatin ass Lakers. OOoo i hate them. It was nice to see you guys pull through in the second half tho. That was some of the best Basketball i have seen in awhile. But you guys proved one thing last night--- YOU GUYS ARE THE BETTER TEAM. I posted that at the end of game three when we lost to those suckerz. I BELIEVE. Doc has made millions of believers. Lakers are so overrated. Kobe's alright but he's not ILL. dig me? They were smiling in the first quarter but had nothing to say end of 4th. Cry babies. This is an All Star team right here and i am so proud to say i am a Boston fan. Game 5 is sunday and i know nohing will be different. All the Laker fans that posted comments after game 3, have yet to post a single comment. Hate to tell ya'll but the Lakers are a wrap. Phil Jackson can go on and retire with his old self cause he is a done deal. I BELIEVE in my team and i know you guys can and will deliver. This is a well deserved moment for you guys. bask in your glory. GREATEST COMEBACK EVER. GO CELTICS!!!! this was truly a team effort and this is how a team should play. Lakers take notes, because KObe can not carry the whole team. He simply can not. I never lost faith, i will never lose faith. I BELIEEVE.

thanks rajon for keeping us desperate fans updated. i thought the celtics were unbelievable last night. that was the most amazing sports game i've ever watched. the comeback was incredible. after the first quarter and going into the second, i had changed the channel but couldn't resist the temptation of just seeing how the game was going to end. everyone in my family were so disappointed. some even forced themselves to bed early. anyways, i hope you guys come back to win that overdue 17th championship! First of all congrads to the Celtics on perhaps one of the best finals games I have ever seen! I am a die hard Spurs fan and have been so for 30 years. I have always had respect for good players on other teams that steer clear of the media and are truly good representatives of the NBA and that is why I am so happy to see Garnett, Pierce, and Allen on the verge of winning their first NBA title! They have had a long career in the NBA and have been super stars and are deserving of this opportunity. I am sad to say that next year I will be back supporting my Spurs but at this moment am enjoying the Celtics run to the championship and wish all of the Celtics good luck in game 5......you deserve it and congrads on your victory in game 4......heart of a champion!!!

i think you need to drive to the basket to score man. ive seen alot of rajon rondo mixes on youtube, and they show that you are crazy good at driving and scoring. if they give you the open shot, try to shoot it. you might miss, but so what.

I am so proud of you guys. First of all, since the refs wanted to overlook Kobe & Company mauling KG and give Doc a tech, THEY DESERVED TO LOSE. The Lakers play dirty ball, period. Nuff said. You guys could have swept the Lakers...you are better than them. I think you need to play harder defense starting out...play the same way you did in Games 1 & 2 and Game 5 will be an upset. Get down the court faster on offense and defense. Also, wait for the offensive rebound. Doc should stop the game the way Phil Jackson does when his boys get a hammering. It recenters the team to focus more.

See you at the Celebration in Boston! The Celtics deserve this one!!

LA Fans showed no class at all. The Lakers 1st quarter celebration was way to early when playing the C's. Van Gundy caved in and 'gave the game' to LA with 7 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Wonder how fooliish he felt 40 minutes later ? The Celts rule. Winning an NBA Championship is going to have to stay on Jack Nicholson's 'Bucket List' for some time.

I live in the L. A. area and it's kinda hard to be a Celtic Fan out here!!!! But we love it........you guys are the best and you play like a 'team'......I haven't followed the sport since the Suns went against the Bulls and you how long ago that was. So, thank you for bringing me back!!!!!!!!!

Good God, kid! I can't even tell you how proud I am of you guys! I NEVER thought of turning the game off. I'm a HUGE KG fan and have always said, "As long as KG is out there on the floor suffering, I'm gonna suffer right along with him!" (Believe me, we did a lot of suffering together when he was in Minnesota!) It always makes it taste that much sweeter when you guys pull off the win.

Way to go, Celtics!
btw-Tell KG that Minnesota loves him and we can't wait to see him hoist that golden trophy in the air!

Rajon, I have been a fan of yours since the first time you put on a Celtics jersey. I can remember telling people to keep an eye on you because you were going to be an awesome point guard. And you have not let me (or other Celtic fans) down. Was a little nervous about the ankle injury but knew it would have to be really bad to keep you out of the game. Just as Perkins and Pierce refused to sit and nurse their injury.
Keep up the excellent work. Sure would love to see Jack (Nickleson) get a big disappointment this Sunday. If not, we will take care of the Lakers here in Boston. GO CELTICS

I'm so glad to hear that your ankle is doing much better. You had me worried for a second, but I knew you would be okay. I'm looking forward to seeing you play a lot more in game 5. Well I have to say that you guys played one hell of a game. That was the best come-backs I've seen in a long time. I must agree with you about the team not starting off too well, but I knew that you all would remain focus and pull it together at the end. Just goes to prove my point from the other day, that the Celtics run things even in Lakerville. LOL It was such a beautiful ending, you guys had me in tears. It was just outstanding and I'm am so proud of all of you. I'm pretty sure you left everyone speachless, especially Kobe... LMAO But now we have to take all and win all next game. I'm not saying that it's going to be a piece of cake but I will say that I'm not worried. We have this game wrapped up like dick's head band... lol But just remain focus and be prepared for all the bs calls that they will try to give ya'll. Oh and let's not forget about Kobe's famous acting perfomance (with his crying and all) - watch out for that bs.So let's give Kobe something to really cry about!!!!! I'm a Celtic Fan.
I am as surprised as you on the comeback.
Until last night, I have not seen the "Championship DNA" with the C's.
But now I do!
In game 2, the Lakers showed a glimpse of their "DNA". They almost pulled it off.
And last night, we saw another glimpse of LA "DNA" in the first quarter.
LA has already had an amazing year. They are "The Best in the West"!
But this series is NOT over.
I hope LA Pride will rise up and defend the Staples Center.
I'm hoping for a 6 game series.
I'm hoping the best team wins.
I'm hoping it will be the Celtics.... BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTT.. ..

Great game although I missed the 2nd half, not because I gave up hope but need to leave for work (being in the Philippines on a diff time zone). While driving, I told a friend of mine over the phone that you guys will make a comeback in the 2nd half because: Boston will play team Off and Def while Lakers will not.

Great Game, Good luck on Sunday!!! We didn't get to see the game we live in the midwest where there is major flooding going on so we ended up listening to the game via the computer on Celtic radio and watching the stats live, We were going crazy at the end of the game even though we couldn't see it. Hope the ankle continues to heal and we end this on Sundayl

Wow, reading through the comments it's amazing to see all the age ranges represented by your fans. Special players bring special fans. I love this Celtics team, have been waiting for this for a long time like many others. Good luck and bring home the trophy on Father's Day -- happy 1st for you and all your teammates who are first-time fathers this year. What a blessing. My own Dad loved the Celtics and brought us all to games when we were little (back then you could stand in the hallway near the locker room and touch the players --- not anymore). He died three years ago but I know he's rocking in heaven with Red and DJ and lighting up a cigar for you all. Make us proud. Good luck Rajon!

I want you back on the court....I know the other guys were awesome, but I want you on the court distrubuting the ball and playing good defense. FAKER Hater!

I am from LA. I dont really hate the Lakers, but I do hate KOBE, Sasha, and all Laker fans. I mean come on Kobe bitches like a girl after every play. Every single one. Lots of players complain, but they dont pout. He is such a girl. And to compare Kobe to Jordan....come on. Lets be honest Kobe is nothing without Shaq.

And Sasha, come on.....who the hell is that. So what he made a three.

Laker fans are the worst. Its like they become overnight fans. The blindly Love the lakers. its like girls that dont know anything about basketball and they will be like I love the Lakers. I hate the new Lakers.

  seriously, i agree. i think the reason that people become overnight lakers fans is because kobe gets praised after EVERYTHING he does by the media and commentaters. when he makes a good play he is so excited but when things get tough on his team he whines and screams about everything!

Rajon, if you read this please pass this message along to the team and coaches, and absorb this message yourself. I have been a Celtics fan my entire life (I am 28), and this team is the thing I am most passionate about in my life. That game and comeback was one of the greatest I have ever seen, but definitely the most meaningful for me as a fan. All year, you guys have worked together, stayed true to ubuntu, beat the odds, overcome adversity, and never given up. You guys are the true meaning of individual players that sacrifices for the better of the whole. I'm sure we all felt many emotions after the game 4 win, but, the emotion i felt most strongly, was honor. I truly felt honored to be a Boston Celtics fan, and so proud to have had the opportunity to watch you guys during the regular season, the playoffs, and the championship.. We are one win away from our 17th, and I just can not wait for it. I am so happy for you guys. Please tell the entire team how inspirational you've been. I am so thankful and greatful for this team, and thank you for being our floor general. Now go out and cut their hearts out in game 5, and make us even more proud!

My Dad and I have been UK and Boston Celtics basketball fans since peach baskets were used for the hoops (he's 78, I'm 53). We remember those 'good old days' when the Wildcats ruled the SEC and the NBA Championship was an annual event for the Celtics. Although last year was hard to be a Celtics' fan, this year sure makes up for it. Continue the tradition. There's even real hope for a return of UK basketball!

Now if only the Oakland Raiders will wake up (I stick with 'my' teams no matter how bad they get or how long they stay that way).
