It's Official

It's official everyone...game one of the Eastern Conference Finals starts today. This has been one amazing year for us. We made it through the regular season and finished with the best record in the league. We've made it through two rounds of the playoffs, and it feels great. All we have to do now is stay focused on the prize and win. The Cleveland series was a tough one. It was similar to and different from the Atlanta series. It was similar because both teams had guys that could score on any given night. With Atlanta, it was Marvin Williams, Joe Johnson, Josh Childress, etc. With Cleveland, it was Delonte West, Z, Wally, etc. With Cleveland, we not only had to try to contain LeBron, but we also had to try to keep the other guys from putting up numbers on us. There were many differences between the Atlanta and Cleveland series, but I think the most obvious one was LeBron. Having a LeBron James on your team makes a big difference. As a team, we had to make sure that we played intense, aggressive defense. We knew that it was our defense that was going to win us games. In the end, we pulled it off, and now we're moving on to Detroit. I just want to give a big thanks to all of our fans. Without your support, I'm telling you that we would not be where we are. Thanks! Right now, I'm home. I just got back from shoot around. I'm about to lay it down as usual. I have to get my nap in. This Detroit series is going to be tough. Detroit is a great team, and they play extremely well together. As a team, we must stay focused and play intensely and aggressively. Keep cheering for us yall....I'll holla!

Thanks again Rondo! Just look at you with the active hands and that blinding speed = steelathon. You have to be able to sense it. Surely, you can see that they don't have anyone who can keep up with your speed especially when you use your craftiness. The Piston starters look very old trying to chase you down the court. Their D is getting spread out so its perfect for you to drive. They are keying in on the 3 so they are already a step slower getting to you. Add that to your blazing speed, and you should be able to get in the lane constantly putting so much pressure on their D that they will crack. Sure Billups has exp. & muscle, but you have so much speed you can really make him pay at the offensive end. Please do us all a favor and just smother Billups when he picks up his dribble cuz I don't know how many times I've seen him pick up the dribble, look to pass,& then just shoot it. You had a great all around game, but to me it looked like you were holdig back. It has to be hard having that much speed, agility, quickness, and brains to gear it down. It really looks like you could drive the ball from the foul line...they over commit (cuz their D is aggressive) ...you sucker them in...KG comes from the baseline...you throw the lob ad infintinitum. Watching the shock waves behind you as the Pistons labor to catch up lungs bursting / eyes popping as they squint to find their way thru the maze of billowing smoke trailing off of your flaming shoes. Now that is dragster fast, and you don't even have a parachute. God has blessed you with such beautiful speed. It's a lethal weapon. You would be inane not to use it every time that high IQ of yours spots the opening (please use the reverse if Prince is nearby).. Rondo, thanks yet again! Oh, what JOY you're bringing. Keep bringing it!

Some of my best childhood memories are watching the C's with my dad. I was born in '81 so I was obviously spoiled growing up with Bird, McHale, Parish, DJ and the rest. My dad was a Celtics fanatic and he passed that on to me. He died in '94 when I was 12. Every time I watch you guys play I think about how much he would have loved this team and how great it would be to sit and watch the playoffs with him like I used to every season. Thanks for bringing back old memories and creating new ones.

Great game Rajon. I watched the 1st half at Chris Webber's restaurant Center Court. Great place to eat, he's got one in Sac and Philly and I think one's coming up in Detroit. You should go there some time. Keep up the great work. Banner #17 will be there before you know it!

My favorite move in game 2 was when Hunter was trying to get all up in your grill, and it looked like you said to yourself, "ok, enough of this. you want some, here it comes" Subsequently, you vehemently drove the ball hard like an unleashed Hulk storming to the basket whilst Hunter tumbled out of bounds like a kindergartner . Now, that is the Rajon we all love and rave over. The Rajon that I compare to Achilles-- fearless, dominant, determined, relentless. Even Mark Jackson was celebrating that drive, and he was spot on.. Right now, you have yet to fully unleash your complete arsenal. You've got Billups who is 31 & hobbled, Hamilton who is 30 & like a stick, and Hunter who is almost 40 years old. Its like Achilles only fighting with his shield leaving his sword sheathed. You can see hints of greatness glinting, flashing, sparkling. When you bravely took it to Wallace and drew the foul, now thats an standing ovation waiting to happen. One thing I like about detroit. They are not timid. They are the aggressor. They bring the fight. You've got the speed, brains, & that perspicacious vision, but this lethal combination is kept mysteriously in the scabbard. When detroit has time to set up their d , they are much tougher because they bring the help. Commentators say that you watch a lot of film. Surely, you see those fleeting golden moments when you could drive before they get set when they are offguard paying too much attention to trying to get to their respective man defensively when they lose sight of the ball because they are thinking 1st get to my man then look back for the ball....that early, tiny sliver of time is when you could bolt by the one piston attempting to guard you when the help is going to be slow in coming if at all & dart to the basket with thunderclap surprise. Then, another one of your strengths comes into play when you drive, can you say 6 for 6 ? If someone is great at the freethrow line, then thats gotta be a goal (hint, hint RayRay). The difference in the game was 6. Look at how many more points they scored from ft's then you all.... They were the aggressor. They got to the line. Lastly, please don't be predictable on d. Go for the charge, go for the steal, try playing real close, try playing 1 step off, 2 steps off... Mix it up & experiment. They are human! They have weaknesses! Probe, Ascertain, Exploit! Rondo, you are very perceptive. You can sense things. Dig deep. The ancient book by Sun Tzu, The Art of War says to know your adversary and attack their weakness....full court hard pressure to challenge Billups hamstring ? If your hamstring was bothering you, what would you fear ??? what would you dread seeing ??? He still has his shot, but I don't think he has the same range of motion or stamina. That hamstring cannot be 100% so make him use it...make him labor...make him burn...make it a private game to see how many times you can turn him. Be his monster. You had the right idea on Prince draping all over him when he picked up the dribble. You saw him squirming all over the place. A little more patience & a little less hands, and you would have had him. Whenever anyone picks up their dribble, they are helpless to a good smothering. You almost had a triple double! I think you could get more steals off the pistons when they inbound. Wallace is often complacent throwing the ball in (like he is way too cool to be inbounding). Billups can't move that well. If you hang a little bit off that inbound pass..... I write all of this for 1 reason. I want to see you be confident & aggressive excelling to your full potential, a superstar. They are basically daring you to step up....but it doesn't have to be all jumpshots....you can be the aggressor and make them react to you. You can pull the strings. Make them nervous, tentative, and reactive. Be decisive & have fun with your speed. Think ahead & beat those old guys to the spot. You've got mad, crazy skills. I'm praying for you Rondo even durring the game. Don't be timid. Be RELENTLESS!!!! Thanks Rondo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game 4 was very impressive. I am actually an old school fan that loves real basketball. Most people are amateurs and are not familiar with working a court under pressure. Even though last night (Game 5) was a tough game- it seemed- it was one of the most aggressive for me. Not only did you not score that much, but more importantly you never gave up. That is our job as a point guard. We make plays and continue to run plays for our team regardless of our individual points. I think you did a great job by keeping your head up at a frustrating time and your teammates supported you throughout. Remember to listen to Doc- he has more experience than most of the players put together. Keep striving for your goals- if it weren't listed, I would have never known that you have only played for one year! Go Green!

I played Bball in college the past 4 yours and had my share of pressure situations but I can't even imagine what it's like running the Boston Celtic's offense and at 22. You have my respect. Keep driving to the basket. Everyone gets their rocks blocked once in awhile. I look forward to seeing you guys against Kobe and Co. but one game at a time. Hope to see u at the Boston skating rinks sometime. Have you seen the movie "rollerboogie"? Old, cheesy but fun. Hope you win tonight.

I am still annoyed about when stuart scott on espn the day after your Radmonovic block then fast break dunk. He was talking about how hard it is for a 6'3 player to block a 6'10 forward, and i was sitting there raging because being 6'1, its even harder. Being in 9th grade, and only a 5'9 point guard, I'm used to being the small guy, when in aau tournaments my team will face players well over 6 feet on a regular basis. By the way, what exactly is your current vertical leap.
