I'm baaaaacccckkkk

It has been a long time...and I do apologize for it. I've been away from the yard for a while-not purposely, of course. It's just that the past couple of months have been very busy for me. We were on the road for almost all of February, and we have been on the road a lot this month too. It seems like all I've done for the past two months is travel, and when I wasn't traveling I was either doing appearances or trying to spend time with my family. My little girl is getting soo big, and she has to be the smartest baby in the world (yes, I'm partial). She is saying and doing everything-her favorite thing to do is to play ring around the rosey (she knows all the words).

I know yall want to know what's been going on, and I'm sorry to say that the only thing that we've been focusing on is finishing out the regular season strong and trying to get everyone healthy. It seemed like injuries were contagious on our team for a while. First it was TA, then Scal, then KG, then me, then Baby, and then Leon. I just pray that the injuries are over, and everyone gets back healthy soon. We only have a few more regular season games, and we need everyone for the playoffs. As far as my ankles, they are better. Just to be cautious, I still get treatment on them every day. I get taped real good before the games, so I'm pretty coo. I would have to say that I'm ready for the playoffs-it seems like the season went by fast this year.

I know a lot of you have been tuning into the NCAA tournament. I haven't been able to watch many of the games because of my schedule, but I do know that a lot of people's brackets are messed up because of surprise wins and losses. I think Louisville's loss shocked a lot of people. Even though I am a UK boy, I still like to see any home team do well. I was hoping that they made it, but it didn't work out that way. Speaking of UK, I was surprised to hear that they let Billy G go. What are your thoughts about the tournament?

  heyy rondo im a 12 year old kid from CT i think you are the best player this year and i do think Billy G was a great fit for UK but he made a couple mistakes and it cost him and I think to many people are over hiped for John calepari he hasent won anything and his team played in the C USA which isnt a high ranked confrence no offence to the teams in the C USA but that is what i think

Yea it did seem like the injuries were contagious, and every week there was someone else who was down, and it really put my hopes down. But im really starting to believe that if we have everyone back during or b4 playoffs, we'll be the same Celtics team that we had month and months ago.

bout time you posted again LOL getiing lazy man you can't blog and be the best point in the league (FYI if it's one or the other I'll take your skills on the court even though I do love your blog) well I am so glad to see you really step up this year and show your skills that midrange jumper you worked on or got more confident with is a great addition to your game. The only thing I don't like that I noticed is low tops man please just think about high tops until your ankles get better the celts can't afford to lose you too. NUMBER 18 on the way go celts

my boy and i passed by you and powe heading into louis v on sunday and was totally about to bust your chops for not blogging enough. then i was like "yeah, not going to bother them on their sunday off." glad you came back to the yard tho.

ncaa tourney wise, i had lou winning it all, but mostly because i hate carolina. i thought syracuse would have a shot at pulling it out over carolina, but failed miserably there. hoping that uconn takes it home, frankly.

bummed about the uk sitch, but hopeful at the same time. love the calipari rumors that are going around cause it'd be ace for recruiting. billy g wasn't the right fit for such a rabid fan base. his methods and ways don't jive with the whole uk face on things. if meeks and patterson stay there's a good chance that they could make a run next year.

Hey Rajon! I'm glad everything is going well with you and your fam. As for your daughter, that is so adorable she's playing ring around the rosey. The NCAA tournament has been off the chain this year. The Big East has really dominated this year though. UCONN is my team for the tourny. If UK gets John Calipari that's going to be insane cause he is a great coach. Now without a doubt in my mind...all the guys will be back and healthy...and we will definitely repeat. Lol this article caught me by surprise! Nice to see you back! I think you guys could finish with 60 games this season, even though I was hopin' for 72-10 lol. I still think that you guys are the best, because yawl had alot of obstacles to go through, and still managed to win. I hope everyone gets better so you guys can really show the rest of those teams how you guys got NBA champs. Even though the record doesn't reflect it, you guys are soooo much better! Including the bench! Now it's gonna be tough for teams to find a way to beat you guys, seeing that there are so many more people to look out for. Go for gold!

P.s: I don't watch NCAA, I caught like two games, and that was one with Syracuse and the other with Boston. The Garden looks so different in blue and black lol.

Hey Rondo - I am so glad to hear back from you! I actually got to see the TROPHY! We had a suite, and my dad knows this guy named David Preciado and he brought the trophy down for us to see! i will have to put some pictures up for you to see! It was awesome to be so close to it! ya i had Louisville duking it out with UNC for the win, my bracket is done. I don't think Michigan is going to beat UConn tho. Of the four left I'm routing for Villanova to take it all, that would be another sick upset. Man, the Big East just dominated this year...

Hi Rajon. Thanks for the update. I'm glad your baby girl is doing well. I had a daughter myself early this month. We got twins, one boy one girl. We named the boy Leon after Leon Powe. It mist be hard to be away from your daughter so much, I can't be away from my babies one day. We'll watch all your playoff games with the babies. Good luck!

Billy Gillispie is gone after two seasons...ha I thought it was about time. But he came out with the best of it, they gave him a 6million dollar buyout...so I think he's aight with it. But John Calipari from Memphis is likely to be the coach next year for the wildcats..he's getting like an 8 year 35 million dollar contract.
I went down and visited UK last weekend, I'm applying to college there next year. It between there and JMU...quite a difference but either place will be coooool.

Man its been awhile. Good to hear from ya. Actually i had louisville losing that game so my bracket is going pretty good. Except kentucky isnt in it this year. About Billy G. Im in a way glad he is gone and in a way think they should have given him another year. Ive heard some pretty bad things that he has done to some of his players this year. They are offering John Calipari an 8 year 35 million dollar contract. So im pretty sure he will be our next coach and hope so to, as long as he dont cheat like he did at UMASS. I am already sad to hear that KG will not be playing the next 4 games which is really upsetting for me because I will be at the April 10th game against the Heat. I hope everyone else will be in at least! I will be excited to see Dwayne Wade too, he is amazing! I am also thrilled that Baby Davis will be making an appearence here in RI, I just hope the place isn't too crowded so I get a chance to shake his hand. The tourney has been bananas and though I had Louisville winning it all, I still have 3 out of the final four right. I guess I need to have more faith in the home town team, as I didn't have Michigan State. But Summers and Lucas have been inconsistent all season and Draymond Green finally decided to step up in the latter part of the season and the tourney. Go figure. But things are looking mighty good for the Tar Heels with what's left. Should be two good games for the final four.

As a Piston's fan, I'm not supposed to say this, but as a basketball fan, I hope you all heal up. Nobody that's a competitor wants to have asteriks by their victories and have people saying if this and if that to there accomplishments. So I want to see a great playoff this year and I hope you all are healed and ready to go. Best wishes to you, KG (the ultimate competitor), Ray (pure shooter), Paul Pierce. Powe, Big Baby, T.A. and the rest of the team and a speedy recovery to all that are injured.

I am legit your biggest fan ever! Haha, there are pictures of you all over my walls! It was so sad when you were hurt, I didn't pay as much attention to the games than I usually do when you are alright. I am so happy to see you are well though and your ankles are getting better. Hopefully everyone is getting better as you said! Also, you are such a big role model to me, even though I am only a freshman, this summer I already want to go and see UK, and possibly be interested in going there. Glad to know you're back, Rondo. Everytime I had some free time I would stop by yardbarker and check for some of your updates.

Also, I'm happy to know that the ankle is being taken care of. The Celtics without your speed just aren't the Celtics I love so much. It's amaazing how much you developed. Hey Kentucky boy !! Glad to see you on here again. Good luck in the playoffs. You will do great. I was sorry to see Louisville lose too since it is in the state, but of course UK is, was, and always will be my team. Not too surprising to see Billy G go because it had just gotten a little crazy, but I wish him the best. As for my team I am so pumped for next year with Calipari I can not wait. Heyy Rajon, im glad that ur ankles are getting better!!! I know exactly how u feel about the ankles cuz im only 14 and i already have tons of problems with my ankles!! i have sprained both of them and just cant stay away from sports long enough for them to fully heal so they still arent fully healed and i have to tape them up for sports now! which is a big pain...lol but im getting better! i hope all the injuries get better soon!!!! u guys definately need everyone healthy cavs are lookin to be a pretty good competitor!!!!!!! but i have complete faith that you guys can pull through!!!!! Hey i just got your jersey, the black alternate one, and i havent taken it off yet. i have it for like 3 months and the only times i dont ware is it school, (I have a dress code) when i have to dress up, or when i go out to dinner. Did the Celts win on Sunday? I had to go to a stupid party, and only got to watch part of it... How was Rondo??? Can some one clue me in? I just realized on Sat. if the celts win five and the cavs win five, the celts will have home court... not likley to happen, but whatever. It was a nice thought. Rondo man, keep up the work, and keep practicing!! Someday i'm gonna be like you, i can feel it. I walked out on the floor during ur latest came against the cavs, and got to see you shooting around, and man it was good. Well I had Louisville winning it all and then they choked against Michigan State. So I was pulling for Michigan State against UNC. They do wear a sissy blue. Unfortunately they couldnt pull it off. I am looking forward to next season to see what Calipari brings to UK. I have grown up a fan and I hope that Calipari can restore some swagger back into the UK program. Its been relying so much on tradition over the past few years. I hope that Meeks and Patterson stay so that we have some solid leadership on the floor. If they dont then I wish them the best and I will keep track of them as they progress in their careers in the NBA. I was hoping for a Patterson vs. Blake Griffin in the tournament. Maybe (hopefully) next year. All I can say is that I hope that Calipari coming is a "change we can believe in"

WoW! The cape must have been beneath the jersey where we could not see it tonight. Thank you Rondo for such a scintillating performance. Rajon, are you in playoff mode? What energy! What game! Loved how you combine your Usain Bolt fast speed with the stretch to get the ball to the hoop! It's like that stretch gives you an extra step or two toward the basket. I've even seen in other games where you stretch out vertical & cup shoot the ball like George Gervin, the Ice Man, used to do. Those shots were swickin!
Loved the tenacity & steal off Lopez then the fancy dribble, pass to Ray, & rebound/shot off Ray's miss. You really stuck with it. That was more effort then some players give for the whole game. Later, Perk forces Lopez baseline with a behind the backboard shot & while everyone else is just WATCHING, sort of stuck to the floor, you GO TO the ball & get the rebound in the air. That reminds me of what Celtic, great coach, K.C. Jones always used to say, "When you guys are rebounding, there is no way that the ball should ever hit the floor." Loved the vision & the pass to Tony on the baseline. Loved the block & then later the little back tap steal on Devin (he looked so disgusted after that. I thought he was going to be physically ill/puke). Really loved the spin move at half court. You could see you were planning it switching hands with the ball, and the crowd is just ewwwwwwwing & aaahhhhhhhing anticipating something great is about to happen. Your game has gotten so good, you even have the refs giving you the benefit of the doubt calls. Earlier in the year/last year they were calling charges on you. Now, you can see a change (at least with this crew). They reward greatness by calling the block which led to your fantastic night at the line! I could go on & on about that game, but there is a more important subject......
You talked about your daughter being so smart....Well, golly gee whiz, wonder where she got that from???? We all know why your daughter is so smart. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Just look at her brainiac daddy out there on the court not satisfied with just schooling the opposition. No, Rajon is Einsteining them using angles, time, space, and his near speed of light velocity as weapons. Whilst would be defenses are blabbering, "doh, duuuuh, which way did he go? which way did he go?" Rajon is already at the other end of the court preparing his class for their next remedial lesson.
You've got your privates & corporals & sergeants & lieutenants, but when we see #9 at the helm, we all breathe a great sigh of relief watching a real, genuine, 4 star floor general strategically demolishing & demoralizing the dejected, despairing, & despondent enemy. Each trip down the court is yet another chance to excel in another campaign of full court domination.
You let the cat outta the bag. Yes, we can all see your daughter six years from now on Jeopardy correcting Alex Trebeck & extending her winning streak to 9 months without a loss in honor of daddy, in honor of the green number on that jersey that everyone loves to glimpse whizzing up and down the court.

Hey Rondo! You finally posted! i was so glad to find out what was going on. I'm glad your ankle is getting better. I read in a news paper article that Doc gave you and a couple of other key players a game or two off to get some rest for the finals. Good to hear! Rest up!

and as for the NCAA tournament. I was sad to see that UK wasn't even in it either.. I will be a student there in the fall . I am so excited to see how the team is next year since Kentucky got John Calipari! Hopefully they will have a winning season. But as for you and the celtics bring home number 18!!!!

Hey Rajon, I saw an article in the Boston Globe that might be of interest to you. I know ur a huge fan of rollerskating. Well, there's a truly legendary rollerskating rink in da Bean (in Dorchester) that's about to be shut down, cuz of financial woes. Turns out that Bow Wow actually indirectly caused this tragic event, but that's another story... I know ur real big on social causes, and I thought this might be something close to your heart that you might want to look into. You can read about what happened in the link below (including the Bow Wow thing). From what I can tell, the people at Chez Vous really try to do a LOT for the community, getting kids off the street. It would be a shame to let that all fall apart. I don't know if you do performances or anything, but you totally should show your stuff! Everyone would love it!!

I first noticed it I think I was watching a game in Feb, So I figured it had something to do with Black History month.
That was like two months ago, What gives?

Great game Rondo! Can you get the rest of the team to join you in playoff mode??? We all know you play hard, but sometimes you emphasize different parts of your game. That versatility makes you fresh & so much fun to watch. Everybody's thinking, what's he gonna do next???? We all know you can score, but the team seems to be in watch Rondo mode right now. Can you hit Ray Ray going to the basket? Maybe if he hits some layups, ie some higher percentage shots, he will revert out of Bizarro Ray Ray. Please don't get caught up in any sort of duel with Rosey. We all know you can win that duel, but, you've got bigger fish to fry. I think the team needs your exquisite passes now more than ever to pull them out of la la land. If you play old fashioned Rondo ball & get them the ball by attacking & dishing or kicking (drawing 2 or more defenders) maybe they will get better touches/easy baskets. Then, they will take more interest in the game/play harder knowing the ball is coming as opposed to just standing there waiting for you to score. They desperately need your cleverness & creativity with the ball. Everybody can shoot, but nobody can see the angles or pass the way you do. We all love to watch you, but when your own teammates become spectators along with us, the fans...it does not bode well. Maybe everybody is tired b/c it seems like the only 1 in motion is you dribbling or Ray Ray or E House. You guys are so much better & harder to guard when the ball is moving around instead of everybody dribbling it in their own little world. Maybe you can pull the rest of the team out of this void & into the playoffs with you by passing them out of this low energy quagmire that they're in (maybe if you hit baby in the head with a yard dart...). You know how your vicious passes can send sparks flying & set your teammates ablaze, en fuego. It puts a bounce in their step & energizes them on the D end. And that's what we all want to see......a full fledged conflagration. Thanks Rondo for playing so hard!!!

YOU WERE AMAZING AS ALWAYS!! I didn't get out of work until 9 so I recorded the game on my dvr. I couldn't answer my cell or read my text because everyone knows the Celtics are my fav. and you are my fav. player in the NBA. I got a message from a co-worker that said you were hurt and I couldn't wait to go home to watch the game and see if you were alright!! I almost cried when you didn't get up!! There was no doubt in my mind that the team would win again this year if everyone stayed healthy but now it is going to be tough with KG and Poe out!!! I hope you are ok!! I am really frustrated with the rest of the team and the bench!! Why are you and Big Baby the only ones out there clownin'? The team can still win if everyone would get their head in the game!! just have a question. how did you get to where you are? i love to play basketball but i'm no good. i joined the basketball team about a month or two ago until it ended and out of all the games i play i had at least 4 points and 2 steals. anyways, you're a great basketball player and the celtics are great. i wish i could come to one of the celtics game but i can't.

Make sure that you keep a copy of these 2 play-off games to show your little one down the road how great a game you played. I'm sure that the baby's too young to appreciate it right nhow! :)

I hope that you win another championship this year.I am your #1 fan out of everyone in the whole world! I just hate the Chicago bulls they were going after you so were the reffs and the fans in Chicago were booing you and chanting "Rondo Sucks" I think that they were just mad that they lost and you are better than Derrick Rose. well you are. that triple over time game was insane and to bad you lost but i was really happy when you won the game 7. were you sick or something because you wern't your explosive self until the second half. whats up rajon? im probally one of ur biggest fans, its weird because u played for uk my favorite college team ( its comes since i live in lex..lol) and now ur playing boston ball my fav. nba team, anyways billy clkyde was a terrible coach, im sure uve heard of jodie meeks i know he needs a break but coach gilllipse or howevr u spell his name ( im 14) told jodie not to shoot when him and pat are our best players, but he just got busted for dui again... so im glad we got coach cal it should be a good fit,..lol anyways hit me up.lol, good luck.- Jon Best
